Thanks very much for the video. I have done exactly as you did on the video but when I enter username and password it says invalid user name and password and when I try to retrieve password with e-mail it says that the email does not exists. I have re-installed it a few time but I get the same result…Any suggestions?

Hello, thanks! great video. I tried to install wordpress move plugin on my offline wordpress installation for it to install my site backup and tinker and tweak on my real site offline but it triggered a fatal error and couldnt be activated (the online process works, done it twice lately, its awesome for migrations). Do you know what could be done to get this done offline on wamp or any other way i can make an exact replica of my site offline without so much hassle? im still kinda noob 😛

@sup270792 No. It means that your computer acts as a server on your machine (or network) only. Basically, it means you can create webpages (.html, .php, .css, etc. files) and databases (MySQL), and they will render on your browser as if they were webpages that are actually online. To get your files to be viewed by the public, you have to have a domain name, which costs money.

Like so many tutorials this is heavy on the what, and light on the why, which makes it pretty poor for a more technical audience – but I guess that’s not who you’re aiming at.
